What a fun day we had at the Pumpkin Patch today! The rain held off and the kids had a ball! For $2, you really can't beat it - the kids got to hear a story, sing songs, play games, get candy and tats (HA!), play in a big bin full of bird seed and of course, pick out their pumpkin!
We had a great turnout with nearly 30 kids and lots of moms! We will do more of this throughout the year - our next play date is Wednesday, November 7th at the Monkey House in Van Buren at 10:00 a.m. Start making plans now! The kids love it and it's a great way to get to know moms and build friendships!

Fall Fun!
What a great meeting we had today! First off, we had 47 ladies there! That in itself is just awesome! This ministry is all about connecting moms, forming friendships and growing in the Lord and I truly believe God is at work. We are so excited about it and we hope all of you are as well!
Second, our speaker, Susie, was so fun and WOW, is she ever creative! She came prepared with so many fall decorating ideas, all of which can be done on a major budget! I'm so glad there are people in this world that can think of these things and share them with those of us that are a little challenged in the area of crafting and decorating! :) Thank you, Susie! We loved your ideas and enjoyed it do much. Here are some of the great things she showed us. First is a faux mantle - lots of great tips for how to spruce it up for fall.
She also used this small table and gave ideas for decorating an entryway table.
And last some cute things to place on your kitchen window.
She found a pillow at a well known home decor store that's a little higher end and said it was pretty pricy, so she went home and made her own for next to nothing! How cute!!
After Susie finished up, we got to work on the cutest burlap pumpkins! Our amazing craft girl, Ashley, spent hours and hours cutting out all these pumpkins, hot gluing them together and getting them ready for us to add our own touch to them. Everyone loved the craft and I expect that we'll see lots of these hanging on doors all around town! :) Thanks, Ashley for coming up with something so cute and so fun!
Here's just one of the finished product!
And here are our girls having fun and working hard!

Day of beauty!
Our meeting today was SO much fun! We had a great turnout and lots of excited moms hoping for their chance at either a haircut, makeover or a bunch of fun prizes!
Two local ladies gave of their time and expertise to share with us some great tips on hair, make up and some other interesting beauty tips! ;)
The first drawing was for a free haircut and Ashley was the lucky winner! She had really long hair and decided that she was going to take the plunge and cut off 10 inches!!! She even donated all of that pretty hair to Lock of Love!! How great is that?? Giving back to someone that will be thrilled to have it! Here she is before (and a little nervous!)
And here she is after! So cute!!
The winner of the makeover was Tamera! She (and we) got a ton of great tips on makeup application and the how to best use each product. Glominerals was used on her and it turned out beautiful!!
Here's the before shot:
And here's the awesome after!
It was a super fun day - full of laughs and great information!
Don't forget about our last meeting of the year on May 23rd! It's a potluck-so bring a dish with you! Looking forward to it and then looking forward to a wonderful summer break!

Best Wishes, Sharon!
It was bittersweet at our MOPS meeting today. While we had a fun time eating, visiting with friends, making a fun craft and hearing a great, encouraging word from our mentor mom, it was also sad having to say goodbye to our wonderful MOPS leader, Sharon. Sharon has been the (as her daughter calls her) "Boss of MOPS" for several years and has done an amazing job leading this group of ladies. She has a heart for the Lord and for women and will surely be missed by all of us!
Sharon, we will be praying for you as you move to Fayetteville. Our loss is their gain! I know that God will lead you to another great group of girls and will use you in a great way!
We made a great craft (see previous post for info) and as always, we had a wonderful meeting. Such a fun group of girls - I personally feel blessed to be a part of it!
Here's some of the fun we had today!

March 14th Information
Hey ladies!! Our first MOPS meeting in March is Wednesday, March 14th! Don't forget to bring your empty Clorox wipes canister and 12 Walmart or Target plastic bags for our craft!
We are going to make a cute container that will dispense plastic bags to use in the car or as a way to store them at home! Because if you are like me, you have a load of empty Walmart bags thrown in the bottom of a cabinet taking up a lot of space and looking junky! :) And, how many times are you on a trip and the kids need a "trash can" for all their snack wrappers? Throw this canister in your car and you'll always have a bag ready for when it's time to clean up all the stuff from a road trip. Love this idea! I'm so glad there are creative minds in this world to come up with these ideas that we can copy!
Looking forward to our next meeting and if you are in this area and are looking for a great place to go to get involved with other moms - please come visit us! We have a wonderful group of fun ladies and it's a great way to get to know new friends! If you have any questions, call FBC-Greenwood at 479-996-2166. We start at 9:00 a.m. and it's over at 11:00 a.m. - the kids are well taken care of by a group of wonderful ladies while we meet! Please make plans to visit if you want to see what MOPS is all about!
See you all on the 14th!
